Europe and My MBA

[Preface: This will be the most boring thing I post for this trip, and I am mostly posting it as a test. So you can feel free to skip it.]

I am currently enrolled in an MBA program. A required part of this program is an international trip (I was very happy to hear that), so traveling abroad gives me credit toward my degree. This isn't exactly like a study abroad trip, I'm not enrolled in courses abroad. Although, I did have pre-trip corse work, and I will have post-trip course work. However, I will not be attending a university, or even staying in the same place on my trip. My cohort will be visiting various businesses in Scotland and England. This "business" section if he trip will last about 10 days, then we are free to spend our spring break there if we like. So for the "pleasure" part of my trip, I will be joined by my old roommate and close friend, Olivia, and we will be traveling to the Netherlands and Belgium. I get to to add four countries to my "been there" list over a span of 17 days!!

I am currently packing and completing some last minute school work. My goal is to get everything for the first week into a backpack and carry on sized suitcase, then wash and recycle for the second week. I was warned that we might end up lugging out suitcase a bit between countries, so I'm trying to pack light. While my carry on sized suitcase will restrict my packing weight, that suitcase also happens to be the easiest to transport because it has swivel wheels, which are better for your should and back then pulling a suitcase behind you.

We leave for the airport tomorrow morning, and we will reach our first destination of Edinburgh, Scotland, Saturday morning (their time). Currently, time differences are as follows:

Edinburgh    CST + 6 hours
London        CST + 6 hours
Amsterdam  CST + 7 hours
Brussels       CST + 7 hours

After we "spring forward" in the U.S., the time difference will decrease by one hour. The European Union (EU) doesn't change times until the last Sunday in March. Maybe the time change will help ease the jet lag.

My next post probably won't come until Saturday, but since I will probably post before I go to bed, that should be in the evening time for those stateside. Until then... Get some sleep for me ;)
